Feeling and Looking Younger

After I finished having my kids, I knew that I wanted a mommy makeover. My stomach was in terrible shape, my arms looked completely destroyed, and my legs had been carrying weight for years. I wanted a full body overhaul, so I started by doing what I could to look and feel younger. I started exercising each and every day, and then I worked hard on doing my hair and makeup better. It was amazing to see the difference it made, but I wanted something more. I consulted with a cosmetic surgeon, and I scheduled the surgery that changed my life for the better. Check out this blog for more information on looking and feeling younger.

Most Popular Trends In Breast Augmentation Procedures

Breast augmentation has been one of the most popular forms of cosmetic surgery since its introduction. Even though it is surgery and all surgery presents a certain level of risk, continual improvements in procedures, products and post-operative treatment that have helped to reduce complications and make this a relatively safe procedure.

Along with these improvements, the use of breast augmentation procedures has been strongly influenced by popular trends and, by definition, trends are always changing. Some of the most widespread and popular trends in this field currently are:

Smaller Implants - Just as with most trends related to a person's appearance, breast implants have seen popular aspects come and go and then make a comeback. In the early '90s, augmentation was primarily for appearance, and large implants were actually rare. As time passed, the trend was toward much larger breasts. Lately the trend has reversed with many women opting for much smaller implants resulting in a small C or even B cup size.

Gummy Bear Implants - One of the most popular improvements in breast augmentation is the development of the so called gummy bear implants. Made from a much more cohesive form of silicone, these implants can actually be cut in half and still maintain their shape. Some of the benefits of these newer implants are that they require minimal replacement. While standard silicone implants are recommended to be replaced every 9-10 years, the cohesive silicone implants are expected to rarely be replaced at all. Further benefit of the implants retaining their shape is the elimination of wrinkling and rippling. And probably the most important benefit is that if ruptured the silicone will not seep out of the implant into the body where it can cause serious side effects.

Fat Transfer Augmentation - This recently developed breast augmentation technique solves two problems at once for many women. The procedure involves using liposuction to reduce fat in another part of a woman's body and then injecting the recovered cells into the breasts to build up their size and structure. This technique is popular due to the notion of it being more natural to use the woman's own fat cells to enhance her own body.

As techniques, products and trends will continue to change, one thing that will always remain constant is the absolute need to seek the advise and treatment of a reputable and well cosmetic surgeon. Any financial benefits from using going a cheaper route will end up being much more costly in the long run.
